Near the heart of West Melton in Canterbury you will find a state-of-the-art production facility dedicated to growing and cultivating gourmet species of mushrooms. Oak and Spore, meaning Oak from the Oak Tree, and Spore, meaning spore of the mushroom, is a boutique mushroom farm who are passionate about mushroom education and DIY mushroom growing. Our family run business started as a hobby from our garage in 2018 and has grown organically into one of the largest commercial oyster mushroom farms in New Zealand. What is unique about this mushroom farm is that we not only grow fresh mushrooms for market sale, but our true passion is about mushroom growing education and giving others the chance to grow their own mushrooms at home.
